Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) is significantly more effective at treating the skin than lasers, peels and other skin treatments but with modest downtime required.

Micro needling can treat a number of skin conditions by utilising the body’s natural healing process to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, scars, acne scarring, milia, rosacea, sun damaged skin, pigmentation, stretch marks and more.

Micro needling consists of piecing the skin multiple times with very fine needles to deliver light trauma, thereby inducing an immune response. This is one of the approaches to something known as “fractional rejuvenating”

This micro trauma stimulates collagen and elastic production and normalised various skin functions

FAQs

Can anyone have micro needling? There is a micro needling treatment for most skin conditions. By varying the needle depth, products used and frequency of treatments to target different conditions. There are some skin conditions that are not suitable including certain types of rosacea and acne. We will discuss this at consultation.
What is the downtime? Expect that your skin will be red and a bit sensitive for 24-48 hours post treatment. This will vary from one client to another. The condition of your skin and what we are aiming to treat will affect downtime. For most people this will be a bit like sunburn but it could be more or less. We will discuss this in consultation. Please be prepared to follow after care advice for 48 hours post procedure.

Microneedling is not a one time facial. Some clients chose to have one every quarter for general skin health and age management however most clients will need to start with a course of treatments. The treatment plan will be discussed at consultation.
